It’s time to grow a Mo guys, it’s time to grow a Mo!!

November is now Movember for us all at Champs… Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces to raise awareness and funds to fight prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. And as you know all too well, we have seen the effects of prostate cancer at first hand. So in memory of our dear friend John – who would have been more than up for this – let’s do a little less shaving and start a little bit of fundraising!

From today you can register at mobro.co/Championofthethames. Do it with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, we selfless and generous “Champs Mo Bros”, will groom, trim and wax our way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the “Champs Mo Sistas”, we raise some funds for our Mo-growing efforts and have some fun.

To make it easy I’ve created a Champs team at mobro.co/Championofthethames There you can join the team or donate. If you’d like, you can create a new team – a crew, your work place, your family, whatever. Then we spread the word. Spread it far, spread it wide… There’s a downloads section with forms and resources such as Mo Bro business cards so those of us with “serious” (ha!) business this month can explain the hairy caterpillar crawling across the mush with NO EMBARASSMENT AT ALL!!!

Since humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia, Movember is now a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.1 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate, right across the globe. Movember works to change established habits and attitudes, educate men about their health risks, and increase the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.

In 2010, over 112,000 UK Mo Bros and Mo Sistas got on board, raising £11.7 million but there is still much to be done to catch up with the women’s health movement. Via the moustache, Movember aims to fulfill its vision of having an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health, by continuing to spark conversation and spread awareness of men’s health each year.

So let’s get growing… Sign up now and encourage others to do so too!

Cheers
Rob
